So I was going about 70mph yesterday, I think once I hit 60-65 my car started vibrating and getting worse at 70 and 75. What do you think it could be?
I've got to take the car in for a number of small fixes anyway, but I don't want to be stuck with some FWD loaner car as my AWD is awesome in this weather, to say the least. Anyways, I still have 5,000 miles on the powertrain warranty, so I suppose it wouldn't be bad for them to give it a once over to see what all I can still get fixed.
Other than that my backup sensors beepers stopped working, which I don't actually mind, haha. My rear shade won't stay down and some work the body shop (at the dealer) did needs some attention.

Check the torque on the lug nuts. But it could be an out of balance wheel

Could need tires re-balanced. Could just be ice in them.

More than likely one of the wheels is out of balance or if it's an old car, one of the bearings is going out.

With this weather it's possible, if not likely, that you've got ice inside a wheel throwing off the balance.

Tire balance.

Snow/ice in other parts of the drivetrain and suspension can also play a part. Temperatures shifting from above and below freezing can also make balance weights on the wheel come loose. I remember having to remove kilos of snow and ice from my car after some heavy hooning before losing the vibration.

Ah ok, it's a 2010, so I am going to chalk this up to out-of-balance wheel then. I'll be sure to have it looked at soon. I actually don't recall noticing the vibration on the highway this morning, but the weather was dismal and I don't know if I got up tot he speeds that I did earlier in the weekend.

This sounds like the ticket, everyone seems to agree, haha.

I'll see if things need cleaning out, my car lives outside, so ice buildup in places isn't unlikely.

This could be exactly what's going on, my car lives outside, so I am sure there ice built up in places where maybe it shouldn't be.

Bearings can go out on relatively new cars. We had one go out on a 2010 GTI. Most likely a tire/wheel issue. Go in for a rotation/balance and make sure to inspect for sidewall bubbles and bent rims. Also take a good look at the rest of the suspension to make sure some debris didn't get caught up in there.

Right on, will do. I actually had to replace a wheel bearing too, but this was due to a girl running into me, one of the things she hit was my right-front wheel, after which her car scraped down the entire side of mine.
In this case I inline more so to balance/wheel/tire things.

Check for debris stuck to the inside of the wheel. I had a piece of tar stuck to the inside of my wheel once and it vibrated like crazy. Its amazing how small of a weight can throw it off.

It may be a bit early based on my guess about the miles on the car, but it could be tired suspension bushings. As one example, this is a fairly well-established fix to eliminate a common 60 mph steering wheel vibration for Porsche 993s.

Ah ok, I'm at about 55,000 miles.

Just something to keep in mind if the alignment/wheel balance fixes don't pan out.

Vibrates as it gets quicker.. hehe
